NJHS

Welcome to the Welborn Middle School chapter of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS), a student-led organization that recognizes and encourages academic achievement while developing the ideals of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship.

Our chapter is committed to empowering students to become leaders in their school and community. NJHS members are expected to uphold high standards in both academics and personal conduct, while actively participating in service projects and leadership opportunities throughout the school year.

Membership Eligibility

Students are eligible for NJHS in the spring of their 7th-grade year. In order to be considered for membership, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 93 in core academic classes
  • Demonstrate strong character, leadership, citizenship, and service
  • Submit completed NJHS Candidate Paperwork and Essay
  • Receive favorable evaluations from teachers and staff

Important Notes

  • NJHS is a student-led organization. While sponsors provide support and guidance, members are expected to lead, organize, and take initiative in all chapter activities.
  • All current NJHS members have access to important documents, announcements, and service tracking tools in the NJHS Schoology course. If you are a member and do not have access, please contact the sponsor as soon as possible.
  • All announcements for potential candidates and current members can be found in the WMS Daily Slides.
